FOOD PANTRY

The Lakeside Food Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Visitors to the food pantry are required to have identification with a current address; distribution is limited to one visit per family per month. A family receives a bag of non-perishable groceries, which will usually include cereal, pasta and sauce, canned vegetables, soups or meats, and other items as they are available. Thanks to the United Methodist Men for their generous donations of food, and to Chris Boer for his trips to the grocery store. BUT, the food pantry still needs your help! Watch the sales and help us stock up. With schools out, children who would be fed a free lunch at school will need lunch at home. Please be generous!

MATTHEW MEALS

MATTHEW MEALS serves a hot meal to all comers on the last Saturday of the month. Volunteers are always needed to help cook and serve—cooking begins at 1:00 PM, serving at 4:00 PM—and to greet our guests. The meal generally includes an entrée, vegetable, bread and dessert; guests are also asked if they have any prayer requests and are given information about Lakeside’s programs. In May, Matthew Meals will be on Saturday the 31st. Contact Jane Harden for more information or to volunteer.

Exciting news this month from SHARE!!! The new minimum for ordering is just $6.00, so that those who wish to order only vegetables may do so! This also means that at our select site at Lakeside you can order whatever amount of our individual items you wish, as long as they total at least $6.00. Of course, with the awesome savings of at least 50% over regular supermarket prices, we hope you will plan to do your grocery shopping with us.

ANOTHER SPECIAL NEWS ITEM: In your SHARE paper this month, you will find a survey to complete that includes a PRIZE DRAWING! Be sure to participate!!

The order dates for May are Sundays, May 11 and 18, before and after worship, and Wednesday, May 14, 6-7 PM, in the fellowship hall. All orders are cash or food stamp only—no checks and no credit cards.

Remember to SHARE the Good News of SHARE with your neighbors and friends in these tough economic times, and offer to pick up their orders if they have a transportation problem. We are a Lighthouse to our community and YOU are the Carriers of the Light!

SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM

Where do your children eat lunch in the summer? The Summer Food Program is available for meals during the summer. Sites offer two meals daily - breakfast and lunch or lunch and snack.

Where are the summer food sites? They're in public schools, private agencies, camps, churches, and some cities. Call 211 Palm Beach/Treasure coast by dialing 211 to get the location closest to you along with the serving times and meals.

Who can participate? Any child 18 years and under can participate. Just show up at serving time and enjoy a great meal!
